Hytrans has developed specialized appliances, fittings, adaptors, and tools to simplify your operations and improve safety. These 6 to 12 inch appliances are designed to minimize bulk and weight while maximizing flow capacity. They include gate valves, gated wyes, Y-pieces, water thieves, spanner wrenches, pressure gauges, and flow meters.

Hytrans Multilug Advantage
Hytrans recommends all Ultra-large diameter (10 inch and larger) hose, appliances and fittings to be fitted with multilug couplings which were specially designed for use with the Hytrans system. The multilug coupling has several advantages over the storz coupling:
50% Lighter Coupling
The 12 inch multilug coupling is about 50% lighter than comparable storz couplings.
High-Speed Multilug
The multilug coupling was designed and is warranted for high-speed hose laying and use with hose recovery units.
One Multilug Design
There is only one multilug coupling design, whereas there are numerous variants of the 12 inch storz coupling. These storz coupling variants are not inter-connectable and should never be mixed. When it comes to hose couplings, “almost the same” is very dangerous.
Minimal-Rotation Multilug
The multilug coupling requires no more than 5 degrees of rotation to line up for assembly or to fully engage, whereas, storz couplings may require 4 to 5 times this much rotation.
Half-Cost Multilug
The multilug coupling is almost half the cost of the storz coupling.

Alco’s trailer mounted monitors
HFRC also offers Alco trailer mounted foam-water monitors through Hytrans. Alco is a German manufacturer founded in 1871 that produces a wide range of firefighting equipment. Alco’s trailer mounted monitors:
High-Capacity Flow
Provide flow capacities up to 15,000 GPM and a demonstrated water throw of up to 450 ft.
Adjustable Nozzle Control
Utilize adjustable nozzles that allow the stream pattern and flow capacity (flow vs. pressure) to be manually adjusted while the nozzle is operating and with no tools. This eliminates the guess work and potential errors associated with using automatic nozzles.
Stable Trailer Design
Are available on Hytrans custom trailers or Alco’s standard trailers. Both trailer designs utilize very low centers of gravity and nozzle reaction to avoid the need for water ballast tanks and the maintenance and operational risks they pose.
