Flood Control and Dewatering

High-Volume Water. High-Impact Result
Moving high volumes of water can be critical to saving property and lives from:
HFRC offers expert fire risk assessments, training, and personalized safety plans for businesses in your community.
-
Flooding due to rising streams, rivers, and water bodies.
-
Flooding due to levee breaches and fixed flood pump failures
-
Drainage system obstructions and back ups
-
Elevated ground water levels
-
Failed or inundated flood pumps, sump pumps and bilge pumps
Our Services Empower Your Brand
HFRC offers four solutions for moving accumulated flood and nuisance water. All of these systems allow their power units to be located remotely from the dewatering point. This provides several advantages over traditional pumping systems:
No reliance on vacuum priming
None of the systems rely upon vacuum priming, as such high lifts and vacuum leaks are of no concern.
Remote, elevated equipment placement
Engine-driven units can be safely located away from and above the water. Reduces the risk of losing equipment to sudden water-level increases. Allows safe, efficient refueling and maintenance during long-duration operations. Enables dewatering in environmentally sensitive areas with minimal impact.
Lightweight, personnel-deployable water movement devices
The water movement devices can be carried and placed by personnel, allowing them to be rapidly relocated as conditions change—without cranes or heavy equipment—and enabling dewatering operations in environmentally sensitive areas with little to no impact.
Safe operation in hazardous environments
When proper grounding, bonding, and other safety measures are employed, the water movement devices may be used in environments where flammable vapors may be present.
HFRC’s Flood Control and Dewatering Solutions Include:

Hytrans HydroSub Units
These diesel engine driven, remotely operated submersible pump systems are designed for moderate to high flow rates ranging from 396 to 13,208 GPM and can be used to move water over short or long distances. These pumps can be removed from their float frames to accommodate below grade locations with restricted openings. See below for more information.

Specialty Pumps
The Hytrans units can be fitted with specialty pumps from Hytrans’ sister company, Holland Special Pumps
-
HS 60 – This includes two specialty pump options:
-
Sewage/dredge pump – 2,473 GPM at 98 ft of lift, while passing solids up to 3.9 inches in diameter.
-
Well/Butterworth pump – This pump is designed to reach hard to access locations. It can pass through openings and butterworths as small as 16 inches in diameter.
-
HS 150 with sewage/dredge pump – 6,388 GPM at 98 ft of lift, while passing solids up to 5.9 inches in diameter.
Semi-Fixed Systems
Hytrans and their sister company, Holland Special Pumps, can provide semi-fixed installations that can be deployed with minimal effort when needed. As a result, the pump can be stored in a safe location, minimizing corrosion, aquatic growth, and other maintenance issues associated with fixed pump installations.
